The Top Hotels of 2024
As a travel blogger, I spend a lot of time hopping from one destination to the next, experiencing new cultures and exploring stunning places. But let’s be honest – the place you call “home” during your travels can make or break the trip. This year, I had the privilege of staying at some incredible hotels across Europe and North Africa. Each one brought something unique to the table, from intricate design to unmatched service.
Let's dive right in, here are my top hotel picks for 2024!
1. Riad Daria, Marrakech
Nestled in the heart of the Kasbah district of the Medina of Marrakech, Riad Daria combines authentic Moroccan charm with a modern touch. Walking through the riad’s intricately carved doors felt like stepping into another era. The vibrant tiles, lush inner courtyard, and warm hospitality made this stay truly unforgettable. My mornings began with a delicious Moroccan breakfast and mint tea on the rooftop terrace. If you’re visiting Marrakech, this is the BEST riad experience.
2. One Shot Hotel Palacio Cedofeita, Porto
Porto has been stealing hearts lately, and One Shot Hotel Palácio Cedofeita is one reason why. Set in a beautifully restored historic building, this boutique hotel seamlessly blends heritage with contemporary luxury. My room featured soaring ceilings, stylish decor, and a serene ambiance. With its prime location near landmarks like the Clerigos Tower, it’s an ideal base for exploring Porto’s iconic sights. The rooftop pool and eco-conscious amenities made this stay even more memorable.
3. Grand Hyatt, Barcelona
Barcelona is a city of grandeur, and the Grand Hyatt lives up to its name. This hotel impressed me with its sleek design, impeccable service, and unbeatable views of the city. Whether you’re here for Gaudí’s architecture or the Mediterranean vibe, the Grand Hyatt adds a touch of luxury to your stay. The breakfast spread here deserves a special shout-out – fresh pastries, jamon, and everything else you can dream of!
4. Hotel Motto, Vienna
Vienna’s sophisticated charm is hard to resist, and Hotel Motto mirrors this perfectly. This boutique hotel is as quirky as it is elegant, with artful interiors that pay homage to Vienna’s rich history. Its central location made it easy to explore all the landmarks Vienna has to offer.
5. Radisson Blu, Gdańsk
Gdansk is a hidden gem of Europe, and the Radisson Blu made my stay even more memorable. Situated in the heart of the Old Town, this hotel offers views of the iconic Long Market. My spacious room had a Scandinavian-inspired design and all the modern comforts you’d expect. After a day of exploring the city’s maritime history and amber shops, relaxing in the room's terrace overlooking all the colourful Gdansk buildings was the perfect end to the day.
6. NH Schiller, Amsterdam
Amsterdam never loses its magic, and NH Schiller added a new layer to my love for this city. Located on Rembrandtplein, the hotel’s art deco interiors and storied past create a sense of timelessness. My room overlooked the bustling square, and I loved being steps away from canals, museums, and lively cafes.
Each of these hotels left a lasting impression on me, not just for their stunning architecture and prime locations but also for the way they made me feel at home away from home. If you’re planning your travels for 2025, consider adding one of these gems to your itinerary. Trust me, they’re worth the trip!
