Paris is one of those places that just gets under your skin in the best way possible. Whether you're wandering through charming cobblestone streets, grabbing a croissant from a local bakery, or catching a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower shimmering at night, the city has a way of making every moment feel special.
Here are my top things to do in Paris:
1. Visit the Eiffel Tower
No visit to Paris is complete without a trip to the iconic Eiffel Tower. This towering structure, originally built as a temporary exhibit for the 1889 World's Fair, has become a symbol of the city and offers breathtaking views from its observation decks.
Best Eiffel Tower photo spot in Paris: One of my favorite spots to view the Eiffel Tower is "Rue de l'Université". This charming street perfectly captures the essence of Paris with its cobblestone lanes and stunning architecture. Plus, its proximity to the Champ de Mars, the park surrounding the Eiffel Tower, ensures the tower will stand majestically in your photos.
2. Explore the Louvre Museum
For art enthusiasts, a visit to the Louvre Museum is a must. Home to thousands of works of art, including the famous Mona Lisa, this world-renowned museum is a treasure trove of history and culture. Get lost in the labyrinth of galleries and marvel at masterpieces spanning centuries.
3. Wander Through Montmartre
Montmartre, with its bohemian charm and picturesque streets, is a neighborhood that captures the essence of old-world Paris. Climb the steps to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica for panoramic views of the city or explore the vibrant artist's square.
4. Indulge in French Cuisine
Paris is a paradise for foodies, with an abundance of cafes, bistros, and Michelin-starred restaurants to choose from. Sample buttery croissants, creamy cheeses, and rich wines at a traditional Parisian bistro, or treat yourself to a meal at a renowned fine dining establishment. Don't forget to try escargot, foie gras, and macarons for a true taste of French gastronomy. While I was there, I took on the challenge of trying escargot... and... it was not for me (the texture was too hard to get over - very sluggy as expected I guess) 😅
5. Marvel at the Arc de Triomphe
The Arc de Triomphe, standing majestically at the end of the Champs-Élysées, is a must-see in Paris. This grand monument offers stunning views of the city from its top, where you can see the Eiffel Tower and the twelve avenues that fan out in all directions. Whether you choose to climb to the top or simply admire it from below, the Arc de Triomphe is a spot to add to any Paris trip.
For a dose of high-end shopping and glamour, head to the famous Champs-Élysées avenue afterwards. Lined with luxury boutiques, designer stores, and chic cafes, this bustling thoroughfare is a shopper's paradise.
6. Discover the Vibrant Latin Quarter
The Latin Quarter, known for its lively atmosphere and rich intellectual history, is a bustling neighborhood that offers a mix of culture, cuisine, and charm. Wander through its narrow, winding streets filled with quaint bookstores, cafes, and historic landmarks. The Latin Quarter’s vibrant energy and bohemian spirit make it a perfect spot to experience the authentic Parisian vibe.
7. Picnic at Luxembourg Gardens
Escape city by spending a leisurely afternoon at Luxembourg Gardens. This tranquil oasis offers perfectly manicured lawns, flowerbeds, and tree-lined promenades ideal for a relaxing picnic.
